Preparations

Life is going well for me. Now I just need to be in the moment and enjoy it. Although if you think about it, there’s no other place I can be but in the moment. If I’m thinking about the future or reminiscing, I’m doing that in this moment. I don’t exist outside of this moment. My mind strives to be elsewhere, but mindfulness helps me appreciate the reality of my moment. If I’m preparing for a future event, thinking about that event is being in the moment because in that moment I’m preparing for the future. 

I’m getting ready to guide a few days on the mighty Green in Dutch John this summer. I’m also going to spend a few months out there. I could probably get everything ready in a few days and go. However, I’m being very thorough and meticulous in my preparations because of my self-confidence issues. The better prepared I am, the better I will perform on the water. Also, if my camp trailer is lined out and organized, it will help with my self-care and keeping my living environment nice. 

I still have a lot of unknowns, but I’m steadily working towards a fun summer. The more I prepare, the more the unknowns get worked out. Enjoying the preparations is important. Right now, I’m going to start going to the gym to try to improve my body, like I have been improving my mind in therapy and my soul through the 12 steps. I’m going to go fish the Gunnison soon and make life more enjoyable. It also helps with my soul, my body, and my mind. That’s why I love fishing.
